In cold weather and other times your battery may have run down, jump-starting your vehicle is an easy way to get going again. Review the safety precautions before performing this or any other emergency maintenance. In particular, keep flames, sparks and lit cigarettes away while jump-starting, and protect your eyes and skin from the battery, which contains sulphuric acid. Keep metal objects from falling across the battery terminals.
